Q: What do you feed your animals?
A: We feed our animals a non-gmo grain blend that is free from soy and corn. Our grain is sourced from a small business in Spokane, WA- Natural Farm Feed.
Q: What inspired you to start homesteading?
A: As newlyweds, we discovered a mutual desire to live more sustainably. We also have a passion for raising our children to value hard work and know how to grow and preserve their own food.
Q: Why Idaho Pasture Pigs?
A: Idaho Pasture Pigs are the ideal pig for a small homestead. They’re a newer breed, having come onto the market in 2012, bred specifically for smaller homesteads. They have smaller litter sizes, have well marbled meat, lard, and are very friendly and gentle. Not to mention, they consume much less grain then a standard pig, help keep our pasture maintained, and are very easy on the pasture since they don’t have tendencies to root.
